I believe in the power of creativity and the collective mythos to inspire understanding, stimulate thought and feeling, and facilitate healing. A transcendent invitation to relate to the mystery within ourselves and the forces that move through and around us. The copious connection and collaboration between the cosmos, consciousness, imagination, intellect, soul, spirit, nature, nuance and the numinous.
My work manifests in a mythopoetic field where thematic storylines of ephemeral beauty, illumination and transformation merge, to create a visual and literate understanding of our complex world. From this realm of shared presence, reality trespasses into dreams, with a unique mix of antique and modern, resonating metaphors of subtle evocation. Formative sources of inspiration include: Joseph Campbell, Carl Jung, William Blake, William Morris, Anselm Kiefer, Mary Oliver and Rumi. Each in their own way opened my eyes to the invisible.
I studied at the San Francisco Art Institute & Southern CT State University, hold undergraduate degrees in Fine Arts & Education, a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology & Art Therapy from Naropa University, and credentials in Authentic Leadership, Contemplative Practices and Therapeutic Modalities. In past incarnations I have worked as an Artist, Writer, Counselor, Educator, Programs Director & Consultant in a variety of fields including: Education, Health & Healing, and High-End Hospitality with a Holistic Twist. With a curious mind and wide-ranging interests my personal engagement in life-long learning is everlasting. Contributing free time to environmental protection, animal welfare and humanist causes. I continue to explore opportunities to awaken the heart and mind, move the soul, be inspired and shift paradigms.
